Dasaolu happy with season

James Dasaolu finished the season in style by winning the men’s 100 metres at the Great North City Games on Gateshead quayside in September.

Dasaolu stormed home in a time of 10.17 seconds, seeing off domestic rival Dwain Chambers, to bring to an end the most successful season of his career so far.

‘It is a great way to end my season. When I look back, I ran sub-10 twice and made the World Championship final and I got my first medal, so I take a lot of encouragement going forward.’ Said James, who won a silver in the European Indoor Championships for Great Britain.

‘We have an approach to my races under Coach Fudge that gives me time to prepare between races, and I have seen the benefit of that this year. ‘

‘The public have given me a lot of support this past year and I hope to continue to progress and bring some medals home with the big events around the corner in 2014.’
