Dasaolu returns to action in Glasgow

James Dasaolu will open his 2014 season in the Glasgow International Indoor match this weekend.

After smashing the 10-second barrier twice last year and a World Championship final appearance to add to his European Indoor Silver Medal, James is very much looking to this weekend.

“Looking at indoors last year I was ranked No.1 and picked up my first medal,”  said Dasaolu. “It gave me confidence in my coach, knowing that he had a good plan, and that I could produce on the bigger occasion. I now expect to pick up a medal at the world indoor championships and to build more on last year and keep the ball rolling.”

Dasaolu also talked about his training group and the addition of Adam Gemili, he believes that strengthening of his group will only serve to bring the best out of each other.

“It is helping us to push each other. We can see where the other person’s at and we are challenging each other in training. You have to be at your best.”

“It’s great to have Adam in our training group, he’s a good friend.”

“There are a lot of sprinters now at Lougborough. That can only help to make us a global force.”

James starts his indoor season at 3.55pm on Saturday 25th January 2014 in the men’s 60 metres.
