Dasaolu posts ‘A’ standard

Great Britain sprinter James Dasaolu posted a World Championship qualifying A Standard time of 10.14 in his first outdoor race meeting of the year in Geneva, Switzerland.

James, who won a silver medal at the European Indoor Championships in Gothenburg earlier this year, said there was more to come from him as he builds in preparation for the Championships.

‘I felt quite rusty to be honest. But I am happy to achieve the qualification for the World Championships in my first race of the year.’ Said James, who also competed in the 4x100m relay at the meet.

‘My focus this race weekend was refining my relay skills. I ran the GB anchor leg and it went fairly well. As a team we have to make sure we get the baton round of every time we step onto the track.’

James’ 10.14 makes him the fastest British athlete this year heading into his next race in Prague this weekend.
