Dasaolu reaction to GB relays

James Dasaolu remains upbeat despite his omission from the GB relay team to compete in Moscow at the World Championships.

‘I’m disappointed not to be selected. I can understand the decision as I rested up following my Anniversary Games withdrawal before the World Championships to prepare for my 100m race. Resting meant that I was unable to practice at the holding camp with the team, so I couldn’t be included in the final quartet. Overall I am disappointed not to be in the four.’ Said James, who is the fastest athlete in Britain this year and second fastest Brit of all-time.

‘I would have loved to have been running with them but they are a very strong quartet. I wish the lads all the best for the competition.’

James was part of the GB 4x100m relay team that clocked a European-leading time at Gateshead earlier this year.

‘I have to move on and look to the rest of the season. It has been a great year so far and there is still more to come from me.’

‘The support I have had from the British public has been incredible. I can’t thank them enough.’
